IFBM student interviews Stephane Cluzet – General Manager Italy at Bacardi Group

Emeric Hanriot, ESCP’s Master in Food and Beverage Management student, had the unique chance to interview Stephane Cluzet, General Manager Italy at Bacardi Group.

This Summer, ESCP Turin Campus launched a contest among its incoming students for the second year in a row: to propose questions they would like to ask the Guest Speakers of the Opening Ceremony, which took place in October the 1st, 2021.

Many incoming students from the MSc in IFBM proposed questions for Stephane Cluzet. Among those who sent the most interesting contributions, Emeric Hanriot has been selected to interview the Bacardi Group General Manager Italy.

During the video interview, they had the chance to talk about different themes like sustainability, the importance of the people and culture in the company, how the Covid-19 crisis impacted the whole spirits sector. Mr. Cluzet talked about the most required skills in the F&B industry and his vision of tomorrow’s sales and marketing careers in this sector.

Bacardi Group is a spirits production and distribution company best known for rum. The historic rum producer of Cuban origin was founded in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó. With over 150 years of history, managed by seven generations of the family, it is one of the world’s largest privately held spirits companies.

During the Opening Ceremony, Francesco Rattalino, Dean of ESCP Turin Campus and host of the Opening Ceremony, invited the guest speakers, top managers from the business world, to discuss a central theme for the Business School: “The Choice: Innovation and Growth”:

Relevant personalities of ESCP Business School, like the President of the Italian campus Prof. Francesco Profumo, Prof. Francesco Rattalino, Dean of ESCP Turin Campus, Prof. Léon Laulusa, ESCP Business School Executive Vice-President Academic & International Affairs, and Prof. Frank Bournois, ESCP Business School Dean & Executive President, introduced the theme of the event and welcomed guest speakers and students.

150 ESCP’s students and staff members attended the event in total safety at the Auditorium of Intesa Sanpaolo Skyscraper, complying with all the covid regulations. The rest of the students followed in streaming the event from home and enjoyed the guests’ speeches on ESCP’s YouTube channel.
