Do I have what it really takes? A mini guide to help you decide if the MSc in International Food and Management at ESCP is the right program for you

You know what you love. You’ve always had a passion for the Food and Beverage industry, but you don’t know where to start. You’re looking for that extra edge that can make your profile stand out in that huge pile of applications. You’re motivated to succeed, and you can’t wait to start your dream job in an industry that is highly competitive but that you know will reward you daily. You’re looking for a sector that thrives on innovation and on making customers happy. Could a Msc in International Food and Management be the right path for you?

Our most successful applicants come from a variety of different backgrounds, but they all have something in common: they’re dynamic, curious individuals, willing to give 100% effort if it means working in a field that they are passionate about. There are two other requirements for admission in this program: a Bachelor degree or a Masters Degree in any field of study, and an advanced level of English, since all of our classes are taught in this language.

Previous experience in the industry is very welcome, and it’s certainly an added value for candidates, but it is not strictly mandatory. We know that if you’re willing to commit yourself fully you’ll be successful no matter what. The majority of our applications are young men and women between the ages of 23 and 30.

You might be thinking, I’m ready to apply. Where do I go from here? What’s the best way to prepare? A good start is to complete your application thoroughly and accurately, to the best of your ability. A well written CV and a good motivational letter can go a long way to showcase your inclinations towards the F&B sector, and can be a huge boost to your application. Red Wines or Craft Beers? Parmigiano Reggiano or Bleu D’Auvergne?  We would love to hear what gets you excited in the world of Food and Beverage Management.  Share with us your passion and how ESCP can help you turn it into a fully fledged career.

The next step is the admission’s test, which means passing an exam divided into three sections. You’ll be asked to complete a logical reasoning test, an English language test and then meet one of our admission representatives for a personal interview. Be prepared to talk about why you want to follow this path, and to discuss your personal and professional objectives while working in this industry. Successful applicants are usually well rounded and informed individuals, with strong plans to work for a multinational company, startup or small family business in the Food and Beverage sector after completing their studies.

But is this Master’s a worthwhile investment? What makes it truly unique? Learning at ESCP Business School does not happen only in the classroom.  What makes this program truly a leader in the field is the strong ties we’ve created between industry and our university. In fact, one of the most important added values of the International F&B Management program are certainly the numerous company visits, where students have the opportunity to meet, learn and network with employees of leading companies in the Food and Beverage industry.  These visits, the cornerstone of our program, are great networking opportunities for students who wish to develop a strong web of contacts in their chosen sector.

For the most deserving individuals, ESCP Business School also offers scholarships that can help offset the program’s cost, and make it even more affordable. These grants are assigned based on either financial need and merit, giving everyone a chance to compete. Following their graduation, our students embark onto fantastic careers all around the world, scoring internships and job offers from some of the world’s most famous, innovative or influential companies in the Food and Beverage industry.
